2011 Winner: Philip MacDonald Architect

Philip MacDonald Architect has been committed to producing high-performance and sustainable buildings for the last decade. Sustainability is practiced in their design and daily operations. Philip MacDonald Architect has completed a number of projects in the Okanagan, which are designed and built to achieve LEED Gold Certification. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is a third-party certification program and an internationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. One such project is Willowbridge for the Canadian Mental Health Association at 330 Boyce Crescent, Kelowna, BC. Willowbridge provides 40 affordable beds for people on limited incomes and at risk of homelessness who are experiencing barriers to maintaining housing.
