Recreation, Leisure & Open Spaces

After climate and weather, recreation, leisure and cultural pursuits were the second most mentioned thing that makes Kelowna a liveable city. In general, people are as involved as they want to be in recreation and leisure pursuits. However, there were some gaps in desired versus current involvement. Younger age groups in particular experienced gaps in desired involvement in sports and recreational pursuits.

The most popular pursuits residents were currently involved in were sports programs (23.3%) and recreation programs (21.2%).
