Powerline Linear Park, Phase 2 

Powerline-Park-2.jpgLocated in the Southridge neighbourhood of Upper Mission, Powerline Linear Park Phase 2 is now complete for use as a recreational trail system that extends south-west from the first phase of Powerline Park.

The vision for Powerline Linear Park was to maintain the natural setting with its existing native vegetation while respecting the natural scenery and landscape.

The park suits the nature of the rolling landscape, and includes: 

  • a central open lawn area
  • naturalized landscape plantings 
  • post and rail fencing

Construction: Complete June 2011
Contractor: Sierra Landscaping
Cost: $480,000

Background

Initiated in 2006, Powerline Linear Park is an ongoing project with phase two just recently completed. Park development and construction was made possible with municipal funding and a federal-provincial infrastructure grant.
