Prizes for the Okanagan  include a Kindle Reader, GPS system and over $400 worth of free fuel.

Check out all the details on carpool.ca!

Did you know that Canadians drive to work each day with over 30,000,000 empty seats in their vehicles? Carpool Week is a great time to fill some empty seats by registering on carpool.ca. Find out just how simple it is to use this free service and what a great way it is to save money and reduce stress on your commute to work. And remember, you don't need to commit to carpooling every day. Even 1 or 2 days a week will make a big difference.  There are currently over 900 Okanagan commuters registered with www.carpool.ca, so sign up to day and start saving!

Carpool Week 2010
November 1 - 5 is the Okanagan's 3rd annual Carpool Week, so spice up your long drive home from work by squeezing a few coworkers into your car, or leave your car at home and catch a ride with a neighbor. Since 79% of Canadians make the trip to and from work alone, The City of Kelowna, City of Kamloops and City of Vernon are encouraging you to sign up at www.carpool.ca, a free carpool matching database provided to help you hook up with other commuters and form carpools.

Side Mirror Shot of CarsBenefits poolers experience include:

  • lower travel costs,
  • reduced driving stress,
  • meeting new friends and
  • feeling good about greener living.

Signing up during Carpool Week automatically makes you eligible to win prizes. Prizes can also be won by sharing a carpool story or participating in Carpool.ca‘s new ‘Trip Tracker’. The ‘Trip Tracker’ can be used to measure individual, corporate or regional savings resulting from reduced trips.
