Earth Hour Challenge

The City of Kelowna has challenged other Okanagan municipalities to switch off for Earth Hour on March 26, 2011 at 8:30 pm. City Hall will be turning off its lights and computers to support the event (with the exception of some hard-wired and security lighting), and encourages Kelowna residents to participate.

Kelowna residents can visit the FortisBC Earth Hour webpage to share what you plan on doing during the hour in the dark to be entered to win a weekend getaway at the Manteo Resort in Kelowna.

Visit the Earth Hour Canada page to find out more on how you can get involved in this event.

About Earth Hour

Earth Hour is a one hour lights out event, created by WWF (World Wildlife Fund) that mobilizes millions worldwide to show support for action on climate change. Earth Hour is designed to help show people how they can be a part of the climate solution and that every day actions can add up to make a real difference.
