Public Consultation
An Open House was hosted by the City of Kelowna and consultant, Urban Systems Ltd., June 7, 2006 to provide information of the construction planned in 2006. The first phase of the Central Okanagan Bypass (COB) began June 15, 2006 and was opened to traffic on December 16.
An introductory open house was held on December 12, 2006 for the planning initiative of further stages of the Central Okanagan Bypass. Residents were invited to attend in order to learn about the study and study process and future planning considerations such as forecast population projections, forecast traffic volumes, planning guidelines and policies, and off-street pathways studies. Those in attendance were asked to fill out comment forms asking for their input on considerations and recommended options.
Another open house was held on May 2, 2007 for residents to view the roadway corridor concepts and to learn more about both the planning process and it's application into the development of the corridor plans. Over 200 people were in attendance.
