Kelowna Joint Water Committee

In 1991, the city’s five major water suppliers formed the Kelowna Joint Water Committee to develop cooperative water management strategies and to promote efficient water use. In addition to the City of Kelowna, the other water suppliers are:

Black Mountain Irrigation District
Glenmore-Ellison Improvement District
Rutland Waterworks District
South East Kelowna Irrigation District

Accomplishments include the publication of a city-wide water utility map, the construction of a 90’ watershed management mural in Mission Creek Regional Park and the development of a Water Quality Response Guide to inform local businesses, schools and health-care facilities about potential deviations in water quality.
