The Scrap It Program

scrapit.pngThe Scrap-It Program is working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve air quality by getting older vehicles off the road. The Regional Quality Program, which is a program of the Regional District of Central Okanagan have partnered with the Scrap It Program to make it available to all Central Okanagan residents. The Scrap It Program is available to residents within Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country, Peachland and all electoral areas of the Regional District of Central Okanagan.

The Program offers qualifying vehicle owners incentives to scrap their older vehicle. The incentive values are based on the greenhouse gas reduction that occurs when an old vehicle is scrapped and an incentive is used as a replacement.

Incentives offered at $1250 or more are offered for the incentives with the highest greenhouse benefit. These incentives include very low emission vehicles, transit passes, or the transit pass / bicycle combination.

For more information and to apply for the program please go to the Scrap It Program Website www.Scrapit.ca.
