Agricultural Development
Agricultural development applications differ from other developments applications as they must conform to both the City's requirements and Provincial legislation.
Requests to add, remove or subdivide land within the Agricultural Land Reserve or to accommodate a non-farm use on agricultural lands are made through the City with final approval made by the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC).

Building Permits
Once you've completed any development permits (if necessary), you can apply for building permits at City Hall. See the online checklists for what to submit with your building application.
The Process
To help ensure the success of your application, be sure to review the OCP, zoning bylaws and arrange a pre-application meeting with a Planner. Please fully complete any application forms by following the accompanying sustainability checklist.
All agricultural Development applications are reviewed by the Agricultural Agricultural Advisory Committee (ACC), City Staff prior to consideration by City Council and the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC). Please note this process can take up to 6 months to complete.
Applications can be submitted with payment to the One-window service centre on the second floor of City Hall. The application fee is $600. Fees are payable to the City of Kelowna and remitted to the ALC on your behalf.
